Listening exercises 
 
 
A. Instructions for creating a listening exercise similar to Question words, an exercise in which students read a sentence and then listen to a sentence to decide if both match.
 
1. Before you "log in" to Quia, record your voice files with Audacity and save them as .mp3
 
2. Log in to Quia (fill in your username and password) and click the Go button
 
3. Click on the Files tab and follow the instructions to upload your sound files
 
4. Now click on the Quizzes tab and then the "Create a new quiz" button
 
5. In "Section 1" write the title and a description 
 
6. In "Section 2" click the down arrow next to "multiple-choice", choose true-false and click the Add button
 
7. In the new Section 2 "True-false question" space,
 
a. write a sentence in the Question slot,
 
b. click True or False
 
c. click the down arrow in Other options
 
d. click Get audio, select the sound file in the next window and click "Ok"
 
 
 
8. Repeat this procedure for all the questions in your quiz
 
9. Fill in Sections 3 and 4 when you're done with the quiz
 
10. Click the Preview button, check everything and then click the "Continue editing..." button
 
11. If everything is ok, click the Done button at the bottom of the page
 
 

 
B. Instructions for creating a listening exercise similar to The house, a listening quiz in which the students hear a sentence and choose the correct word in the pop-up menu to complete it.
 
1. Before you "log in" to Quia, record your voice files with Audacity and save them as .mp3
 
2. Log in to Quia (fill in your username and password) and click the Go button
 
3. Click on the Files tab and follow the instructions to upload your sound files
 
4. Now click on the Quizzes tab and then the "Create a new quiz" button
 
5. In "Section 1" write the title and a description 
 
6. In "Section 2" click the down arrow next to "multiple-choice", choose pop-up and click the Add button
 
7. In the new Section 2 "Pop-up question" space, Question 1 is going to be a sound file, so copy-paste the following html code in the slot

with your name and the name of your file
 
8. Repeat this procedure for all the questions in your quiz
 
9. Fill in Sections 3 and 4 when you're done with the quiz
 
10. Click the Preview button, check everything and then click the "Continue editing..." button
 
11. If everything is ok, click the Done button at the bottom of the page
